Molly Katanga Charged, Family Faces Allegations of Evidence Tampering

Molly Katanga has been charged with murder in the case of her husband, Henry Katanga, who was fatally shot in their Mbuya Hill residence on November 1.

Jacqueline Okui, the spokesperson for the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP), confirmed the murder charges against Molly Katanga.

The DPP has also approved charges of tampering with the murder scene on Molly, Patricia Kakwanza, daughter to the deceased and Martha Katanga Nkwanzi. George Amanyire, the shamba boy  and Dr. Charles Otai face accessory charges.

Tricia Katanga who was called in later after the murder may testify in court.

According to the DPP, initially, police considered the possibility of suicide, but as investigations progressed, it became evident that there were suspicious circumstances surrounding Henry Katanga’s death.

During the inquiry, it was discovered that Katanga’s body had been moved from the master bedroom to the sitting room, indicating a deliberate attempt to manipulate the crime scene. The involvement of the deceased’s daughter, Patricia Kakwanza, and Martha Katanga Nkwanzi in tampering with evidence raised further concerns.

Amanyire allegedly assisted Martha Nkwanzi Katanga in moving the body from the murder scene. Dr. Charles Otai’s involvement suggests an attempt to disguise the cause of death as suicide.

Henry Katanga and Molly Katanga were involved in supplying items to key government agencies, including the Ministry of Defense.
