Police in Nakapiripirit district are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the tragic suicide of a 21-year-old woman, Hellen Nachap.
The incident occurred in Lokwasinyon village, Kawach Sub County, where Nachap was found hanging from a tree behind her mother’s house.
The unfortunate event unfolded after Nachap allegedly borrowed 3,000 Shillings from her brother, Isaac Mungan, on Tuesday.
However, Mungan gave her a 10,000 shilling note, anticipating a 7,000 shilling balance. When he confronted Nachap for the balance on Wednesday, a quarrel ensued.
According to Michael Longole, the Mt Moroto Regional Police Spokesperson, Nachap was discovered dead by residents following the altercation with her brother.Mungan, upon realizing his sister’s death, attempted suicide, leading the local community to apprehend him.
Longole stated that Mungan is currently in police custody.
