Uganda Cranes Face Guinea in 2026 World Cup Qualifier

In their first 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying fixture, the Uganda Cranes will face Guinea on November 17, 2023, at Stade De Municipal in Berkane, Morocco.

Newly appointed head coach Joseph Paul Put is seeking their first World Cup appearance, are in Group G alongside Guinea, Algeria, Mozambique, Botswana, and Somalia.

This marks Uganda’s first competitive match since the departure of former coach Milutin Sredojević.

Sredojević faced criticism for employing a defensive style, contrasting with the attacking approach of former coach Sebastien Desabre.

The debut of manager Put signals highlighted his preference for attacking play, granting players the freedom to express themselves, although the practical implementation of this philosophy remains to be seen.
