JATT Arrests 25 Suspected ADF Terrorists

The Joint Anti-Terrorism Taskforce (JATT) has arrested 25 suspected terrorists with links to ADF.

This operation took place over the last ten days and was conducted with intelligence provided by the Directorate of Crime Intelligence (DCI) and Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence (CMI).

The arrests were made in various areas, including Kyankwanzi, Wakiso, and Kiboga districts, with a majority of suspects  apprehended in Kyankwanzi.

However, it’s important to note that these suspects come from different regions of Uganda, particularly from Wakiso, Kampala, and Kyankwanzi districts.

The ADF terrorists had reportedly sneaked back into Uganda after being targeted by the Uganda People’s Defence Air Force (UPDAF) in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

Over 50 people in Uganda between June and October 2023 have been targeted by terrorists. This includes a tragic attack on Lhubiriha secondary school in Kasese District, which resulted in the loss of 39 students and five civilians. This school was located near the Uganda-DRC border, highlighting the challenges faced in the region.
