Parliament Pays Tribute to Former Minister Henry Kyemba
Henry Kyemba, a retired civil servant and seasoned politician, who had previously served as the Minister of Health in Idi Amin’s government and held the positions of permanent secretary and private personal secretary, passed away last Thursday.
The Clerk to Parliament, Adolf Mwesige, recently issued a statement, announcing that Parliament would convene to provide an opportunity for Members of Parliament to pay their final respects to the distinguished former politician.
Indeed, today morning, at 11 am, Kyemba’s casket was received at Parliament by Deputy Speaker Thomas Tayebwa, allowing MPs and other mourners to view the body and sign the condolence book.
At 2 pm, the casket was brought into the chambers for a parliamentary session during which the Prime Minister presented a motion to pay homage to the departed leader. The Leader of the Opposition, Mathias Mpuuga, seconded the motion.
