Police in Kira are investigating the sudden death of Mbona Godfrey, 40,a treasurer at the Kira Division.
The deceased was found dead on October 4, 2023, at the Kira Division offices located in Bulindo, Kira Division, within Kira Municipality, Wakiso District.
Luke Owoyesigyire, the Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson says the deceased commenced his workday in a seemingly regular state, raising no concerns among his colleagues. However, during his customary lunch break, an unusual turn of events unfolded. Upon his return from lunch, some of his co-workers noticed that he had retreated into the confines of his office, locking the door behind him.
He explains that concerned colleagues decided to take a closer look into his office and to their shock, they discovered him in a lifeless state, lying against the wall of the office restroom.
The colleagues reported the matter to Kiwologoma Police Station and police officers retrieved and subsequently transported the lifeless body to the City Mortuary in Mulago for a comprehensive postmortem examination.
He says police are investigating the cause of his death.
