Busoga Kingdom Gears Up for Grand Coronation Anniversary of King Gabula
Officials of Busoga Kingdom are preparing to celebrate the coronation anniversary of His Royal Highness Gabula Nadiope IV, the King of Busoga, just a week after the unveiling of his queen, Her Royal Highness Jovia Mutesi. Gabula took the throne on September 13, 2014, following a vote by nine royal chiefs of Busoga.
The theme for this year’s anniversary, to be held at the Namungalwe sub-county headquarters, is “Harnessing the Environment Through Tree Planting.” It’s expected to draw around 20,000 guests from the Busoga sub-region.
The celebration includes flagship activities like tree planting and a free medical camp, offering services such as non-communicable disease treatment, family planning, malaria treatment, and more. The goal is to emphasize community health and heritage.
The event also serves as a platform for youth engagement and cultural celebration, with figures like Hussein Muyonjo and Uthman Kalyowa encouraging young people to actively participate and network.
Patrick Mudungu, the head of cultural institutions in Busoga Kingdom, highlighted the significance of Gabula’s reign and urged the public to embrace their cultural heritage.
