Police in Lugazi are investigating circumstances under which a 19-year-old girl was hacked to death and her body dumped at the roadside.
The deceased is Priscilla Agasiru, a resident of Luwayo village in Kawolo Division, Lugazi Municipality, Buikwe district. She was cut into two pieces, reportedly by her boyfriend Ekurius Wazemba, who remains in police custody.
According to Hellen Butoto, the Ssezibwa Regional police spokesperson, Agasiru’s brother (names withheld) told police that his sister was brutally murdered by the father to the couple’s one child. He claims that couple had a series of misunderstanding prior to the incident.
“The deceased’s brother informed the police that the body of his sister had been mutilated and left at the roadside in Luwayo village by the boyfriend, with whom she had a child.” Butoto stated,
She adds “There were clear signs of struggle at the scene, especially at the point where blue sandals were recovered. The body was taken to Kawolo for postmortem.” She, however, says that they are yet to recover the killer’s weapon.
Police handed over the deceased’s body to Kawolo Hospital for postmortem examination.”
