President Museveni Urges Anglicans Leaders To Promote Socio- economic Transformation In Church

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has called on the church to engage the public in improving their livelihoods at household levels by tapping into government poverty alleviation programs.

The President said this while meeting religious leaders from the Anglican and church at State House Entebbe. The team including Church of Uganda  Bishops from Central Buganda Diocese was led by  Bishop Michael Lubowa of Kampala Archdiocese.

He  urged the clergy to work with the government for socio economic transformation among the flock they lead.

Bishop Lubowa, tasked the bishops to work towards transforming the lives of their flock. 

President Museveni asked  Jane Barekye,the State House Controller to work with the Bishops in order to make this a reality.

 

This is the second time H.E the President was meeting the Bishops, the first having been last year in Kisozi, Gomba, where he met them together with First Lady, Janet Museveni.
