President Museveni Appoints New UPDF Infantry Division Commanders
President Yoweri Museveni who is also the Commander in Chief of the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF) has promoted and appointed two senior officers.
According to a statement issued by UPDF spokesperson, Brig Felix Kulayigye, Museveni has promoted Col. Paul Muhanguzi to rank of Brigadier General and also appointed him as the Second in Command of the Second Infantry Division.
Genu Museveni also promoted Col. Peter Akankunda to Brigadier General and appointed him Second in Command of the First Infantry Division.
“The Ministry of Defence and Veteran Affairs and UPDF fraternity congratulate the Senior Officers upon their well-deserved promotions and appointments,” Brig Kulayigye said.
The appointments and promotions come after the President promoted over 400 officers recently.
