President Museveni Gives Financial Aid to Victims of 2021 Twin Bomb Attacks
President Yoweri Museveni has made good on his word by distributing support money to victims and casualties of the 2021 twin bomb blasts that left five people dead.
The attacks carried out by three suicide bombers on November 18, 2021, happened at Parliamentary Avenue near Insurance building and close to CPS Kampala.
Police confirmed that a domestic group allied to the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF), an affiliate of the ISIL (ISIS) group in central Africa, to be behind the attacks. ISIL claimed responsibility
The attacks happened within minutes of each other, with two suicide bombers on motorbikes disguised as “boda boda” motorcycle taxi drivers detonating a device near parliament, while a third attacker targeted a checkpoint near the central police station.
During a brief ceremony on Sunday at the police headquarters in Naguru,the State House Comptroller Jane Barekye distributed cash worth an unspecified amount to the families of the deceased and over fifty seven victims who survived the attacks.
The money was distributed in the presence of the Director Crime Intelligence Fred Ddamulira and the Commandant of Kampala Metropolitan Police Senior Commissioner of Police Steven Tanui.
In her message from the President,Barekye said President Museveni condemns all forms of terrorism that have led to loss of lives of Ugandans and left many others incapacitated.
