UPDF Launches Strikes Against ADF Camps in DRC
UPDF troops have launched air and artillery strikes on ADF main camps, the UPDF spokesperson Brig Flavia Byekwaso has announced.
This comes after the DRC and Uganda agreed to jointly fight the ADF terrorists.
“This morning, we have launched joint air and artillery strikes against ADF camps with our Congolese allies,” Brig Byekwaso tweeted Tuesday morning.
The UPDF strikes were launched in the Eastern DRC parts where ADF terrorists have been recruiting, training, and launching their attacks on Uganda and the region at large.
The terrorist group is now officially affiliated with the Islamic State terror group that claimed twin blasts in Kampala recently.
Following the most recent attacks on Uganda, President Museveni said he was working with the neighbors to deal with those (terrorists) operating from outside.
“They have exposed themselves when we are more ready for urban terrorism. They will perish,” Mr. Museveni said in a statement.
