Kabale-Bound Bus Catches Fire, Terrorism Ruled Out
Travelers were left stranded along Kampala -Masaka highway after a Gate way bus company caught fire.
Preliminary reports show the fire resulted from a faulty braking system, ruling out an act of terrorism.
The vehicle registration number UAU 926U from Kampala was heading to Kabale when it caught fire at the Kampiringisa police check point.
According to Faridah Nampiima spokesperson Traffic and road safety all passengers all passengers were evacuated safely from the bus but their luggage was burnt to ashes.
The fire is said to have originated from the braking system of the bust.
Traffic along this route is building and moving at a snail pace . However there is too much traffic along the road as efforts are to have the fire extinguished .
