43 Advocates Enrolled in Ceremony at Judiciary Headquarters, Kampala
The Chief Registrar HW Sarah Langa Siu has called on Advocates to serve the society with integrity, professional ethics, and to uphold high standards at all times.
She said this at the enrolment ceremony of 43 Advocates at the new Judiciary Headquarters in Kampala.
HW Langa Siu also took a moment to acknowledge and welcome Pepperdine University students currently doing internship at the Supreme Court, along with the parents of the new advocates, commending them for their selfless support.
She further commended the parents and guardians for the selfless support rendered to the new officers of court and urged the new advocates to prove their worth to society by serving with high standards of intergrity and professional ethics at all times.
Peace Athocon, representing the Secretary of the Uganda Law Council, echoed similar sentiments, urging the new advocates to embrace their calling and adhere to the principles governing their profession.
She emphasized the importance of service above self, underlining the significance of justice and the need for utmost professionalism.
Isaac Atunkunda, representing the President of the Uganda Law Society, expressed gratitude towards HW Langa Siu for her efforts in facilitating the enrollment of new advocates on a nearly monthly basis. He offered practical advice to the new advocates, emphasizing the importance of self-discovery, networking with key individuals, and embracing alternative dispute resolution methods, including technology, in their practice journey.
HW Timothy Lumunye, Personal Assistant to the Chief Registrar, moderating the event, said the ceremony provided a platform for both encouragement and practical guidance as the new advocates embark on their professional journey in the legal field.
