Police Doubles Reward for Ndiga Clan Head’s Murder Suspect’s Capture
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (CID) has announced an escalated reward for the arrest or provision of credible information leading to the capture of Lujja Bbosa Tabula, 38, a prime suspect in the murder case involving the former Ndiga Clan head.
Tabula is wanted in connection with the alleged masterminding of the shooting death of Eng. Daniel Bbosa, who was fatally shot on February 25, 2024, around 6:00 pm, in Lungujja Parish while en route to his residence in Kikandwa zone. The assailants, riding on a motorcycle, ambushed Bbosa’s vehicle, firing shots that claimed his life instantly. Fortunately, his wife and housemaid, also present in the vehicle, escaped unharmed.
Initially, the police had set a reward of Shs10 million for information leading to Tabula’s arrest. However, according to police spokesman Fred Enanga, the reward has been doubled to Ugx 20 million in a bid to expedite Tabula’s apprehension.
Enanga stressed the urgency of Tabula’s capture, stating that despite efforts to gather information, leads have proven futile thus far. He appealed directly to Tabula, urging him to surrender and avail himself for legal proceedings.
“The sources obtained so far from the public have not yielded fruit. We also want to urge the suspect to turn himself in and defend himself. The longer he stays in hiding, the more guilty and desperate be becomes. This could easily lead him into committing other crimes; while aiding his escape or hide out.” Enanga said on Monday while addressing journalists
The Uganda Police Force (UPF) has however expressed confidence in locating Tabula and ensuring justice is served.
Enanga says that a wanted poster with Tabula’s details is now accessible on police websites and various social media platforms for whoever has any information on Tabula’s whereabouts. The public is encouraged to contact the Special Investigations Division at CID Headquarters via the provided hotline: 0741-111-333.
Meanwhile, five suspects allegedly involved in Eng. Bbosa’s murder were remanded to Luzira Prison. The accused include Noah Lujja, 21, Milly Naluwenda, a secretary to the Kisekwa traditional court, Harriet Nakiguli, Joseph Nakabale, a painter, and Ezra Mayanja. They appeared before the Mwanga II Magistrate’s Court on Monday last week but were not permitted to enter a plea, as their offense is considered capital and can only be tried by the High Court.
