13-Year-Old in Faces Jail Time for Killing Fellow Pupil

Police in Gulu District have arrested a 13 year old Sudanese national over the murder of a fellow pupil while at school.

The suspect identified as Angee Bakita, currently in custody at Gulu West CPS is a pupil of Divine Care Nursery and Primary School. Bakita killed Nyatrich Tracy,14,a pupil of the same school following a deep heated fight at the girl’s dormitory where the duo resided.

It is alleged that the two got into a quarrel while they were fetching water. The suspect allegedly,  grabbed Nyatrich by the neck, and strangled her. Subsequently, Angee pushed Nyatrich, causing her to fall forcefully to the ground and lose consciousness. Nyatrich was rushed to St. Mary’s Hospital Lacor, where medical professionals pronounced her dead upon arrival.

Fred Enanga, the police spokesman says the body of Nyatrich  has been transported to St. Mary’s Lacor for post-mortem examination, while Angee Bakita, the 13-year-old suspect, has been placed under female custody.
