Court has remanded the 22 year old woman who tortured her two year old child in a viral video.

Dorothy Nabulime was on Tuesday arraigned in court and charged with assault and cruel, inhumane and degrading treatment. 

Nabulime pleaded guilty to the charges and was remanded at Butuntumula Prison.

The presiding Magistrate John Paul Oguya adjourned court until September 13 , when she’s expected to return to court for probable sentencing.

The  22-year-old mother of three and a resident of Busula A zone in Busula trading center in Luwero district, was convicted of aggravated torture on Tuesday after she pleaded guilty.

Nabulime was arrested on Saturday, September 3rd, 2022 a video clip went viral showing Nabulime beating the child.

In the video, Nabulime is seen beating the kid with a sandal before she fell off from a basin to the ground and cried out. In the same video, Nabulime is seen beating the child several times as she orders her to climb back into the basin to bathe.

The video was recorded by the concerned resident before he shared it on social media. It is reported that it is not the first time Nabulime has beaten up this child.

Nabulime was first arrested at Busula Police Post, before being  transferred to Luwero Central Police Station.
